Community Tasting Notes 3

April 12, 2024 - Deep purple. Not decanted.
Nose of cassis and black currant.
Rich, sweet Shiraz. A little short and one dimensional. Ripe and powerful but a long way short of the great Barossa Shiraz available from this vintage.
Disappointing. Let's see what 24 hours does for it.
Next day. Shows a little better balance but still short.

April 5, 2024 - Rich, bold and heavy. Will cellar well. Try one bottle after 2026

January 26, 2024 - A true Barossa Shiraz and everything I would expect from this region, not syrupy or high Alcohol and on special at $35 from Dan's this was an easy recommendation and buy.

This is about as dark as you can get in terms of colour, notes of dark blackcurrant jam, plums, cassis, violets, graphite, cacao, vanilla and spices. The palate is bold, concentrated and juicy with layers of dark black spicy fruit which gush and stain the palate along with milk chocolate, crushed stones and sweet spices. The mid-palate is dense with bold tannins and a fruit driven, concentrated finish.

Don't get me wrong this wine won't be for everyone, but this sings of Barossa and does what it needs to.
