Community Tasting Notes 3

April 30, 2024 - Bottled under cork. Light greenish yellow. Aromas of both stone fruit and citrus with faint iodine. Medium weight, expansive and penetrating in the mouth. The riper fruit on the entry provides the only hint of a warmer vintage. After that, it is all lemon curd and a rush of terrific acidity and crushed stone on the finish. Perhaps since it had just been delivered to the shop in Paris, it was open and not reticent at all. Outstanding and should be a classic Forest. It made me sad that I no longer buy the cuvée due to both price and ongoing oxidation issues.

November 21, 2023 - Tasted at the Domaine. This wine was the best 1'er I have tasted in Chablis. The length is amazing! It is more rounded than I would have expected, but undeniably has the structure and acidity for a long life. The wine actually gains power in the mouth and it stays with you in a long, and elegant finish. If rating today, I would likely give it 93+ to 94 points, but you can't help but marvel at the potential and wonder what a beauty this wine will become!

Update: That was before tasting the 2016 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre (my new favorite 1'er in Chablis)...but this is still a wonderful wine!

July 6, 2023 - Dégustation des 2022 au domaine Vincent Dauvissat (Au domaine): Wow, la claque! L’énergie et la plénitude du vin en imposent. C’est fin et long, avec un crescendo vers la finale de bonne longueur. Magnifique. 94 pts
