October 12, 2016 - This was a beautiful wine. Drinking well at 12 years.

February 22, 2009 - Bursting ripe berries, anise, cassis, and soil on the nose. Dark chocolate, berries, and cherry on the palate. Firm acidity, round tannins. Pepper and cinnamon/nutmeg on the finish.

October 24, 2008 - Plum, bright berries, leather, and tobacco on the nose. Cherry and other red fruit on the palate. Upon opening, the acidity was quite high (in fact, it was very tart). However, after decanting for about 1/2 hour, it mellowed out a little. There was also barnyard/manure notes that diminished as it opened up.

This blend was good, but not as good as I remember. Hopefully the second bottle will be a little better.

June 17, 2008 - Musty, dark cedar notes on the nose. Very interesting complex mix. Well balanced. Nice acidity.
