  January 17, 2024 - Side by side with the Volnay this shows a bit more power, albeit an elegant Pommard, in keeping with the «modern» Pommard style. As explained by numerous wine critics: the warmer climate is refining its rustic tannins. Although there is a clear difference in site, this cuvee maintains a beautiful and fragrant bouquet. Sweet red berries, whiff of freshly picked plums and the slightest bit of earthiness. Compared to the Volnay this has more cherry than strawberries on the nose. A precise and beautiful palate. Excellent balance with lifting acidity, and just a slight mineral iron streak towards the end. Great example of 2021 in this Fremiers from Thomas Bouley and my favourite of the two. 93-94 points?
