Community Tasting Notes 22

September 23, 2022 - Pop and pour into a decanter - 2-3 hours might have been preferable. In the glass, opaque, nearly black. On the nose, tobacco, currants, cedar, and a bit of damp earth. On the palate, leans more heavily into the tobacco, but there is enough cassis and plum to keep austerity in check, with mouth-drying tannins on the moderately long finish. If you haven't checked in on this wine, now would be a good time.

June 14, 2020 - Consistent with prior notes. Very smoky, tobacco mid palate with a dry finish. Good wine, poor QPR. Moving up drinking window, as tannins fully resolved.

December 11, 2017 - Fresh bottle in good shape. Rather thick and full bodied in the character of the 2003 vintage with complexities that linger between a high quality California Cabernet and a French Bordeaux. There is a bit of a fist packed inside the dark glove, and its clenching a big oak branch. However, the Margaux violets are very apparent and the saving grace of this wine. Otherwise, at around 100.00 its a definite high reach as far as QPR goes...Finally, the wine is vey well structured and has nothing but improvement ahead with all the beef inside. Hold
