Deep violet in color. Elevated aromas of cherry skin and dark berries intertwine with hints of licorice, exotic spices, and leather. The concentrated dark fruit liqueur and violet pastille flavors harmoniously balance intensity and liveliness, complemented by a mineral undertone. April 2, 2024 - This #13 presents with bashful vibrancy, particularly at this just-bottled stage. It's pure in its delivery, perfectly formed, and belies great layering as it boasts its 2023-2015 multi-vintage, multi-aged block vine, Barossa credentials.
A youthful, lifted nose awaits with lots of raspberry, leather, red liquorice, marshmallow, wood spices, and scented bath salts.
A mouth-coating swell of blackcurrant, blackberry, and blueberry dance in the mouth alongside capsicum, stone, mint, and hints of French herbs.
It's so well made, and utterly drinkable now or for a good 10-12 years. I've said it before, Fraser McKinley at Sami Odi is a winemaking genius.

January 31, 2024 - Evocative from first pour. Intense blood plum and raspberry fruits. Some brown spices, menthol, tar and licorice too. Fleshy and juicy through the palate. Nice savoury nuance. A long finish is carried by sweet, ripe tannins.
