June 21, 2023 - Purchased from a boxed vertical set of 12 bottles (2005-2016) ex-Chateau. Half hour decant. Dark fruited nose with cedar, tobacco and some menthol. Opened up further in the glass revealing more blackberry notes. Tannins are integrated and this is drinking well right now.

August 9, 2022 - On day two, developed quite a bit of complexity after two hours in the glass, a little dark fruited, even a slightly stewed plum, with cedar and oak and a minty note, aromatics coming and going, tart on the palate with plum, cigar box and a bitterness on the midpalate that turns into a chocolatey note with a hint of vanilla. This needs air and is surprisingly much better on day two which seems to indicate it's still got life ahead of it.

June 10, 2021 - Better than 2 years ago. Coming into its own. Bold fruit with some vintage softness. Very approachable now but all fruit driven. Classic soft, plummy St Julien with hints of cedar and blackcurrant. Now and over then next five years. I don’t think long ageing will add much to this vintage.

September 20, 2020 - This was a pleasant surprise after opening a half bottle a few months ago that was a tad mean fruited.

This bottle is much better and not at all mean fruited. Strawberries and blackcurrant on the nose, the palate was of juicy berries and pencil shavings. Not drying as the last bottle was. Short to medium length. 13.0%

July 25, 2020 - Drank from half bottle. Very dry and mean fruited on opening. Decanted for an hour and it did start to unfurl. Very dry and still lacked fruit for my tastes but it was enjoyable nonetheless, but can’t score it higher than an 88. I have a few full bottles that I’ll leave for a few years.
