Community Tasting Notes 8

December 10, 2023 - Popped and poured. Full bodied. Golden yellow. Autumn leaves on the nose. This lacks freshness and energy although there is still some nice orchard fruit coming through. Not sure if this was a bottle already in decline or typical of this wine in general.

March 27, 2022 - Oh hey I found another. Good storage and cork in great condition. Rather rich and pretty. Baked yellow apples, and a similarly deep beautiful gold color. But also over the hill and thus a little short.

September 19, 2021 - Last of three bottles of this from the same lot. Unfortunately the only one that was very much premoxd. Perfect storage and cork, just for whatever reason, it was much darker in color and quite sherried with nearly no indication of the magic that it once contained. Drain pour 😭

August 28, 2016 - Unripe apricot, hints of sherry, anise, almond, urine, oak; smooth, slightly buttery, lasting, somewhat peaked, proud, elegant but lacking strength, attack

November 28, 2015 - Lovely, complete WB that needs a few hours to open and really show its stuff. A nose that makes you stop and contemplate how good this stuff can be. Darker in color but no signs of premox and completely alive and kicking. In its prime, but I think it can be safely held for a few more years.
