Community Tasting Notes 1

November 21, 2022 - Bought on auction recently. The bottle was in very good condition: filling-level into the neck, cork soaked but intact, no seepage. Medium garnet colour, brownish towards the rim. Fading red and dark berry fruit, herbaceous notes, truffle, leather, tobacco, mushroom, spices, and sage, with good length. At first, the acidity was pronounced, and the finish thin and drying, which made the wine angular and difficult to enjoy on its own. As the wine breathed in a small decanter and warmed up, it found some balance and became more enjoyable, and it kept getting better and better. Difficult to enjoy on day two. Drink up.
