July 22, 2023 - A lot of energy on the nose, quite exuberant without being overripe or jammy. Really liked this wine. Thought it was drinking at peak possibly with tannins completely resolved. I would pop this bottle now and enjoy

July 22, 2023 - An exuberant, floral nose. Trademark Magdelaine characteristics of silky tannins, plus an elegant, weightless sensation on the palate. Quite resolved I guess because of the weaker vintage, but the fruit really shone here to make the wine feel so alive. Definitely a good time to open this vintage of Magdelaine now.

June 11, 2023 - Soft but surprisingly very good for a wine from this vintage. A hint of lead pencil on the nose, the tannins have melted away. The fruit is comparatively restrained but nicely balanced on the palate. If you have some left, I would drink up fairly soon, but very good now.

December 19, 2022 - A pretty nose of plums and espresso. Still some tannic structure framing the dark fruit and licorice. Could be considered a luncheon claret, but it was a lovely accompaniment to our beef in red wine. The taste lingers and I quite enjoyed it.

December 31, 2021 - Decanted for 90 minutes. Higher acidity, lower tannins. Good balance. Lighter fruit. Held its own against ribeye and grilled romanesco.
