Community Tasting Notes 8

September 23, 2013 - very little on the nose, nice dry on the palate. the tannins worked well with a cold, fatty pork pie, but this would be fine without food. I thought the taste fell off quickly in the mouth - is this a wine that needs to be drunk now? I would say that I definitely preferred the 2005 Chateau Meyney.

I love fruit bombs, so unsurprisingly this tasted dry to me, but all in all it was a pleasant drinking affordable bordeaux blend.

July 19, 2013 - Prune colored hue with copper rim. Nose of stewed prunes, olives, black currant and leather. Medium acidity, medium plus tannins and velvety medium weight. Classic Bordeaux finish of dark fruits, green pepper and cassis.

September 2, 2012 - Drank with bacon wrapped filet of beef. I really should not have drank since i just had a root canal but what the hey. This wine was smooth, with a bit of fruit and ready to drink. A winner for the price

July 10, 2012 - A fine drinking wine that I tasted at about room temp in Spieglau.
The color was medium dark ruby with a bit of tawny at the rim.
The Nose was clean and of medium intensity with aromas of plum and currant and a touch of cedar.
The Palate was dry with medium body, alcohol, tannin and acidity. Medium all around, really, including the flavor intensity, which showed again some currant, black berry and cherry, a touch of earth, but it was a bit weak and thin on the back palate. The finish was medium-.
This is a solid wine, but drink it soon.

March 11, 2010 - Showing signs of vintage this wine is more concentrated than usual wine from this region.
Ready to drink now with decant of at least one hour. Flavors of leather, smoked meat, dirt, red and dark fruit. Smooth but not silky. Very enjoyable with food or on it's own. Good value too.
