February 13, 2019 - Dinner at Cafe de HK (Cafe de HK, Balestier Road): A ripe, round, maybe overly mature white Burg, but enjoyable nonetheless. This just blasted out of the glass with big aromas of yellow fruit, honey and burnt butter, all this edged with a nice floral perfume and just a trace of sweet oak at the sides. A bit obvious, but attractive. The palate was huge - ripe and rich and fleshy, with layers of honeyed pears and sweet yellow fruit, tropical pineapples, then some kumquats and bits of honey - big flavours filling absolutely every crevice the mouth. Real Grand Cru power here, with a deep oily texture and lots and lots of depth - very clearly in a different weight class from either the Sauzet or Leroy 1er Crus that preceded it. There was enough acidity to keep this upright in spite of its size, but this seemed to be more about power than grace. It was a yummy drink though, even if I felt it would have been better a few years back though. All in all a good enough CBM, but a bit of a disappointment given how good it tasted on release.

February 18, 2012 - Nose rather closed for the whole afternoon only showing glimpse of what's inside, with slight nail polish. Light yellow color, with a pretty full palate and mouth coating honey, long lasting mineral finish in the end and will need another 3-5 years of age.

May 28, 2008 - Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore, Potel Tasting. (Harbour Grill, Hilton Hotel, Singapore): I knew this was something special from the first swirl and sniff. Quite simply one of the best white wines I have ever had. Sometimes a wine just belies description, same problem I had with the 2002 DRC Romanee St Vivant, but I shall try. Nice golden straw colour. Super complex nose (my notes say "Wow! lovely, lovely, lovely!), with bright, melony fruit, bread, nuts and vanilla. It got sweeter and more open with time in the glass, taking on lemon custard, yeasty notes and a nice streak of minerality. The palate was wide, creamy and fleshy with super-rich, concentrated mouthfilling flavours. Layers and layers of flavour in fact - butter, lemon custard, citrus notes, a bit of pineapple, and a super super long finish full of fruit and a wonderful hint of minerals. This certainly blew the Corton Charlemagne that was tasted next out of the water. There was just a flush of heat from the rather high alcohol content, but everything was nicely balanced with moutwatering acid and fantastic structure. This needs time, quite a lot of it, but so delicious even now. Magnificent.

(Potel Nicolas Criots Bâtard-Montrachet) A much wider and more complex nose, though some faint estery notes too. Super texture, this wine absolutely stands out for its ceamy complexity in the mid-palate and its awesome finish. I’d only once had a white that ruined the next few reds as its flavour had saturated my palate and refused to leave - that was DRC 2002 Montrachet - this is the second wine to achieve it. Stunning, awesome wine.
