Community Tasting Notes 5

December 8, 2012 - No formal notes. Tasted blind by a group of four. Texturally very burgundian but I was confused by the strongly licorice and meaty notes of the nose, which suggested northern Italy rather than Burgundy. Beautiful red fruit and balance on the palate with great length. Still youthful with no color at the edges, leading the group to guess 6 years old at the most. A little Brett on the nose added a little extra confusion but the group eventually went with Burgundy. Nice wine.

October 2, 2010 - Absolutely a fab pinot. My favorit kind of style. Didn`t decant ... only poped the cork for one houer. Very nice nose of T-tree, cherries, some rasperry, mild bark, fresh spring earth and some mild leather. "No" souerness/acid. Well integratet and "mild" tannins .. just enoughf. So silky and smooth taste. Ready to drink ... will maybe not develop over next years but will keep this high quality taste of the finest piont for some years. Had the wine with Dr. Rislin watching football/soccer ...and no food ! Second half we enjoyed Jadot "Clos saint Jaques" 1998. Perfect match. FCK won against Panatinaikos in Chapignions Legaue. Perfect evening, OT

March 29, 2010 - Tasted on wine-evening with good friends. Exceptional nose of sweet cherries, white pepper. Has that rubber-band nose of older wines. In the glass pure essence of pinot. Silky, spice box, cinnamon, cherries, raspberries. A touch of leather, too. Just enough tannin to keep it al in line. This is good stuff!!

(Gambal Alex Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes) The colour is a medium, medium-pale lemon-yellow. Dense, though not lush, aromas that are supported with citrus fruit elements. In the mouth it’s round with nice concentration and in the mid-palate shows the typical extra dimension of this cuvée. It’s fair to say that (in the 2006 vernacular) that this is a little plump, but the acidity is enough that it doesn’t become wearisome. Nice length. Another good showing.

(Gambal Alex Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes) A very fine nose of deep red fruits. More depth, more tannin, more flavour and more dimension. This has a super length and is very fine.
