Community Tasting Notes 1

January 19, 2010 - After decanting aroma of funky reduction, slight alcohol and soil. Tight palate. Same after 30 minutes. Reduction clears at 45 showing big black fruit with minor soil. Ripe, not complex flavor of licorice, herbs and soil. The edges round after one hour but it still has great structure, youthful brightness and a refreshing finish. Overall, lots of wine (and alcohol), big ripeness but balanced and enjoyable. Could be an '07. Now with minimum one hour decant but time will help this. Score would be higher with more fruit complexity.
