March 21, 2023 - Amazing to have this again 6 years later, brownish rim, pepperish, graphite, humus, mushroom, some bitterness in the aftertaste due to tannins I suppose, nice (re)discovery, anyhow this bottle being very good

March 18, 2020 - Just a splendid long-tailed cab. Lots still going on on the nose and tongue. Fading at the edges so wouldn't leave it too long. For years thought that this was the most overhyped wine ever (sorry, I know that's not true even as a write it). Later releases were tasted and quickly forgotten and this was the last of the modestly priced vintages - after this year the price tripled as I recall.

March 3, 2020 - Amazing that at one time 13.5% Cabernet Sauvignon seemed so uncommon! The 99 Don Melchor shows a bell pepper, leather, and ripe plum profile, augmented on the palate by something vaguely savory, almost prosciutto like. This is relatively well balanced, though there’s some heat on the palate. Pleasant enough EC 91, but perhaps best for consumption in the near term.

November 2, 2019 - Gravy some leather, tons of umamiand extremely long. Either this is an extraordinary bottle or this wine just rocks.

September 24, 2019 - Semble réduit, fané, encore sur le bois et
    un peu de cassis.
Assez long et capiteux, relents de fumée.
    Ordinaire, au mieux.
