September 27, 2014 - Popped and poured. Unpleasant nose of prunes and alcohol. Better palate, smooth, but not particularly good. This wine seems to be over the hill, like the 2003, despite perfect storage in my cellar since release. Very disappointing.

August 24, 2014 - Brown sugar, ripe black fruit compote, lacking freshness, epices orientales...nice black cherries, nice ripe tannins, nice balance

August 21, 2014 - Janasse VV is definitely one of my favorites from C9duP, but tonight we had a somewhat disappointing bottle. In the bouquet very ripe fruits, but also vegetables like cabbage. On the palate ripe fruits as well. Herbs and spices, a lot of sweetness and juiciness, but also drying tannin. The alcohol shows a bit. I scored the wine 92, but after the bottle was revealed I was disappointed, because this wine should score a few points higher. Maybe this is my first wakeup call that also with aged C9duP you must be lucky to have a perfect bottle. (I need to keep this wine in mind.)

July 30, 2014 - Stars out with just too much of a hint of the overdone style of the house - prunes in 2001, come on!. Gets better with air, much better, though still basicly driven by the core of kirsch, that is so much the trademark here. What I am missing at the moment is the broad generousity that is chateauneuf, and while this will settle down, certainly, I do not see it reaching the hights, that other notes suggests. Will keep my remaining bottles, crossing my fingers.

July 17, 2014 - Outstanding bottle. Very different than the previous 60 point note. Full, rich and complex. I think this wine still has room to improve. Plenty of life ahead. Glad I have more.
