Sehr reif. Auch in der Farbe. Wirkte beinahe süßlich. Gefiel Ingrid und mir. Um 89 bis 90. Austrinken! 2010 bis 2022 zu trinken.

October 25, 2014 - Elegant, so elegant. Strawberries and raspberries, oak, chocolate?

October 21, 2010 - The winner of a tasting with 7 PN from all around the world.
A gigantic nose with lots of mud and some burned tones. The fruit was well hidden.
The mouth feel was really interesting. First soft, then a long tense taste with a nicely bitter finish. Concentrated taste and vibrating tannines.
The mouth feel took it to the top but I could wish for more fruit and less mud. This wine is gigantic and very well made. With a more charming nose this wine could become one of my favourites... 92-93 p.

(Weingut Meyer-Näkel Spätburgunder S) Pale ruby color with hints of garnet. Intense, brambly fruit notes are followed on the nose by baking spices, iris, and violets. Aromas of black-cherry soda, sweet-tea leaf, and green tobacco leaf are supported by the rich, creamy texture, with reductive, leesy notes adding complexity. The palate is electric in its balance: full-bodied and flavorful, revealing ripe currants, wet earth, and slightly lactic notes on the finish. A bit of greenness helps keep the wine lively on the palate, but obvious wood tannins linger. Special Report: The Ahr and the Emergence of German Reds
