January 23, 2023 - A real wow wine, this really impresses. Dark rich ripe blackberries, mulberries, dark chocolate with killer density & excellent balance. Not for the faint of heart, this is big broad and hedonistic. Still years and years to go.

December 28, 2021 - Ten years later, this wine has become more complex with notes of cassis, dark chocolate, mocha and clove. Intense dark blackberry fruit along with sweetness and minerality after 16 years of aging…this is drinking VERY well right now.

September 2, 2021 - Dark, inky fruits, chalky mocha, cassis, strawberry and raspberry with a light hint of mountain laurels. Weight starts big and then glides back through the mouth. New leather, ash and crushed wet rock with an iron note. Good structure with tannins are melding well into the wine. This Malbec is drinking beautifully as Catena Zapata often does.

    p.s. pot roast

March 8, 2021 - Deep, rich, round, and powerful - a lovely wine in a lovely space. But the bottle is obscene - it weighs in at about 1.1 kilograms - so for every bottle of wine shipped from Argentina, 1.5 times its weight in glass is shipped. I loved this wine, but I'll not compromise our environment by shipping excessive glass. Winemakers should learn from Bordeaux.

July 20, 2020 - In a perfect drinking place...lots of ted fruits still but starting to show secondary smells and tannins are resolved
