  December 9, 2012 - Dark purple. Cherry nose with hints of espresso and some burnt notes. On the palate raisin, more cherries and coffee. Medium body and quite juicy in texture. Medium finish. A huge improvement since I last tasted this wine two years ago, when it seemed out of balance with acidity and alcohol dominating the fruit. Extended cellaring of this wine seems to be rewarded.

  October 17, 2009 - It's an assemblage of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Sousão. Ages 12 months in oak barrels. Decanted for 1 hour.

  Initially, this wine was a bit mute on the nose, even after 1 hour of decanting, but then it started showing aromas of chocolate and cherries...it smells like those chocolate candies stuffed with cherries and liquor. I also noticed scents of oak and flowers. Nice nose but could be more open.
  On the palate, it's balanced, round, with elegant tannins, low astringency and medium aftertaste.
  It's good wine overall, but it's a bit overpriced. It's not worthy the investment.
