March 26, 2024 - Second bottle. Absolutely wonderful madeira. Classic Bual with all the usual notes of hazelnut, burnt suryp, honey, brown wet earth. But the 40+ years in barrel has really made the palate smoothe and complex. The high acidity cuts through the palate like a knife through bitter orange marmelade.

August 15, 2019 - This has now been opened for a good 3 months and we had the last 2 glasses out of the bottle. (Careful of fine sediment here)
A very solid Madeira and really was the talk of the town of the evening. Nutty, oxitative , balsamic. Full of character and charm and really spoke loudly of what a good Madeira can be. Superb. 94

June 23, 2019 - This has been open for a good month , month and a half when Nicol had a glass with friends. Was too powerful then.
At this stage though this indestructible wine has opened up and is showing very solidly. Nutty, oxidative but also with a rich and round profile, textbook bual. Maybe we should have served it a bit colder than we did too but was a superb specimen of these great wines.

December 31, 2017 - Color is dark honey to Amber. Heavy tears. The nose is juicy on citrus and some caramel. On the palate it's medium high Acidity, low tannins, no astrengency and medium alcohol. The taste is blood orange, caramel some peach and the taste is very long and smooth. Much easier to drink and dont feel the alcohol level like a port. The taste is very very long beyond a minute and a half and still going.
