August 24, 2013 - Opened next to the '07. Soft garnet and abundant red fruit, esp. cherry aromas. Big nose. Med- full bodied with lots of fruit but just enough acidity, too. No sharp edges, as noted by Parker. Cherries predominate but also some cola, and enough dustiness to keep it interesting. As the wine opened it softened even more, and became less interesting than its '07 brother. Would have been perfectly happy to drink all night if it wasnt up against the other wine.

June 3, 2012 - Cranberries, strawberries, spice, hints of cola, cinnamon, and hints of vanilla, finishes with some smokey oak. Good acidity balanced. This is a great wine.
