Community Tasting Notes 5

July 3, 2014 - Its hard to believe I only paid $19 USD for this; its an incredible value.

Straight from the bottle the wine extremely dark (purple to black) with little aging. The nose was oak and dark fruits. To taste, there were plums and blackcurrants. The tannins were soft andwell integrated. Maybe I am being harsh with my 89 and on another day it could be a 90.

In summary however, a good wine I would recommend, and drink again.

April 7, 2013 - This is a fantastic wine for the price. Nice nose of dark fruits and cherry liqueur, with hints of oak. Palate exhibits the same as the nose, with great intensity and length. The acidity is evident as are the fine grained tannins. The port-like finish is packed with dark fruit.

September 24, 2012 - Direct geserveerd uit de kelder. Dit was gans andere koek dan de vorige fles. Een heel evenwichtige, volle warme wijn. Geen scherpe kantjes te bespeuren. Zeer donkere kleur. Geur van zwarte kersen. Een lange afdronk. Schitterend

March 4, 2012 - This 06 is dark and brooding, with medium plus viscosity.
After decant, aromas of earth and herbs and dark chocolate lead the charge, behind them follow notes of prune, fig, coffee, forest floor and wood; Complex and intriguing.
The palate is packed tightly with flavors, acidity and soft tannins. Flavors of tobacco leaf, coffee, prune, currant, cocoa powder, earth, dried cherry and pleasant oak nuances. The finish is long and pleasing.
this wine evolves well with decant and is highly recommended; it also has some life in it yet! I have not been disappointed yet!
