April 16, 2021 - This is a producer that we've liked for a long time, but rare to see the older vintages available. Still drinking quite young which surprised me. It's a bit primary in nature. A producer that always has good balance, but the fruit is bright and present and probably the dominant at this point still.

March 27, 2021 - This has a boastful nose of meaty, smoky and peppery black fruit. Terrific balance of rich fruit with nice savory elements. Holding strong with years of life ahead in this zone.

July 8, 2019 - Lovely, mature wine. A nose of violets and red fruits. The palate is a beautifully blended mix of blueberry, roasted meat, anise, warm spice. Some pepper comes in on the mid-palate. The tannins are smooth and the acidity bright. Lovely balance. The finish has dark fruits and black pepper. Great now and for the next 3 to 4 years.

March 21, 2017 - This is at peak at least this bottle. At 17 years from vintage, I don't think it gets better but then again, no real hurry. Purple/ruby in color. The nose has black raspberries, dark cherries, raspberries, slight earthiness. On the palate, this has a tart acidity to it which comes out as a tart cherry note. There is also a nice black raspberry floor. finally a slight charred earth component is also around. All in all, it presents a reasonably complex package with good acidity. The tannins seem integrated. Nice finish. It certainly drinks more as a cooler climate Syrah which I would think is consistent with Napa in 2000.
