May 23, 1990 - At dinner at Stars at Mitch Myers' going away dinner. Yellow gold. Nose, initially bad, was better later, but still subpar. Definite dill pickle flavor in the mouth, at least initially. Better later. Bad bottle? 5-10-13-4: 82/100.

May 1, 1990 - With Michael Lehmann and Brett Raven and Bruce Wecker at lunch at MacArthur Park. Medium straw color. Rich, toasty nose, citrus fruit. In the mouth, mouth filling, quite rich, still tight, excellent structure and balance. Unfolds beautifully in the mouth to reveal layers and layers of flavor. Amazingly long, complex finish. Yellow fruit. Probably will age well, but why wait? It's great now. 5-11-18-9: 93/100.
