April 18, 2011 - P&P, color as previously noted, no sign of bricking. Bouquet smells of dark fruit mildly oxidized, leather and meaty notes that were not apparent when last tasted a couple years ago. On the palate the fruit tastes baked and somewhat oxidized, along with leather and some earthiness. Strangely, the acid is medium-plus despite obvious signs of age, with spikes of brightness on the sides of the tongue in tart cherry flavors in the finish. Moderate tannins are fully integrated. This was well-cellared, but has not held up well in that the fruit has lost its vibrancy and it is considerably less elegant now. If you have any, drink up, and quickly.

February 3, 2011 - Aromas of leather, tobacco, and red berries on the nose. Medium to full body with cherry juice flavors and moderate tannins on the finish. Very easy to drink and really enjoyable. Well balanced. ($13)

November 20, 2009 - I'm not 100% sure if I tasted the 04 or the 05... anyway, this was what you might expect from a minervois - some garrigue, some floral, some spice on the nose - the palate was pretty user-friendly, rounded off by a good dash of oak. A shade too much for me, but this will be accessible even to those new to Languedoc wines.

August 24, 2009 - This wine is delicious. Loads of dark fruit and chocolate on the nose. Intense red fruit and plum flavors on the palate with a nice mocha finish. Also a nice smoky, oak element that I enjoyed. Smooth and balanced with no rough edges. Definitely a crowd pleaser. 90+

August 10, 2009 - Color: Beautiful dark Nose: Alcohol, some wood and beautiful red raspberry, cherry, plumb, etc..Taste: Definite black cherry with some sour cherry, raspberry again and lighter flavors of spice and herbs. Nice acidity with a hint of earthiness. Very well balanced with a medium-fuller body. Finish: Very pleasant and reasonably complex flavors that seem to last quite a while, especially the sour cherry finish which has seemed to soften somewhat since I last tasted this. Seemed to get even better as it was opened a bit. This is an outstanding value at $13.00. Easily worth double that.
