August 24, 2008 - 2 cm fill. Bottle # 1603. A dark color, very dark for a 69. A youthful nose that was very true to its dirt. Rich and full bodied, with wonderful Gevrey dirt, some herbal notes, with sage mostly. Full bodied pinot with lots of structure, and density. Really fine wine, with dark berry fruits more than cherries. Fine grip on the back end. I think there is little doubt this had younger fruit than advertised to top off, but still an outstanding wine.
