Community Tasting Notes 3

March 7, 2018 - Fully mature, this medium bodied, fresh, bright, earthy, garrigue and peppery kirsch filled wine requires consumption sooner than later.

April 10, 2011 - Decanted for one hour. Forest Floor and Eucalyptus on the nose, initially. Tar and dried fig on the palette with earth and dark cherry. Good balance and soft tannins. After about two hours the earth tones become more pronounced on the nose but the tart fruit shows more forcefully on the palate. This wine is a good value.

October 18, 2008 - Trip to France; 10/13/2008-10/24/2008 (Burgundy, Rhone Valley (Chateauneuf-du-Pape), Paris): Nose is rustic, earthy and gamey, but with plum and tart cherry. Palate has firm tannins, but balanced. Fruit up front- Grenache is prominent, but fades quickly to scorched earth, tar. Finish medium length and complexity, with some mineral notes. Nice. Accessible now, but would wait 3-4 years before trying again.
