April 28, 2021 - Very good but limited complexity. I expected it to open up as it warmed up and got some air but basically stayed the same over 2.5 hours.

January 10, 2021 - Notes similar to last bottle.

April 28, 2020 - Decanted for 1.5 hours - quite a bit of sediment. Still very dark with no brown edges. Really nice blackberry aromas with some spicy meat and currant notes (presumably from the 36% Syrah component). On the palate, velvety cassis and black fruits with a little gaminess and leather that adds complexity. Relatively soft, savory slightly sweet finish with just enough tannic structure to hold up to food. This seems to be at peak - well stored bottles might last a few more years, but why wait! Enjoy the decadence now.

March 24, 2020 - Floral & raspberry nose. Oak brings a mocha mix on the palate. Tannin is smooth & blended. Delicious.

(Long Shadows Wineries Chester-Kidder) Opaque red violet color; cocoa, sweet, toasty oak, dried fig nose; tasty, tart berry, tart blueberry, berry jam palate with sweet tannins; needs 2 years; medium-plus finish (45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot, 9% Cabernet Franc)

(Long Shadows Chester-Kidder Red Wine Columbia Valley) An intriguing, somewhat subdued aroma profile with brambly berries, black cherry, tobacco and a dusting of chocolate. Red Mountain, Candy Mountain, Stillwater Creek, 27 Benches, and Weinbau vineyards. Aged 30 months in tight-grained French oak and a limited amount of Hungarian. 14.9% alcohol. 1,689 cases produced. (Long Shadows Chester-Kidder Columbia Valley) Clove, spice, and aniseed accent rich, dark fruit. A plush wine that has just a trace of sharpness that runs through the palate. The finish hangs. Will be an excellent wine. 44% Cabernet; 37% Syrah; 9% Cab Franc; 9% Petit Verdot; 5% Merlot. To be bottled in March 2009.

(Long Shadows Wineries Chester-Kidder) 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot, 9% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and blueberry come together seamlessly with savory spices, herbs, and vanilla. More dark fruits and highlights of raspberry mingle on the palate. The long and luscious finish gives rise to touches of black pepper and rose petal. 1,689 cases made. Winery Spotlight: Long Shadows Winery
