September 1, 2017 - Zinfandels Ten or Older (Gen Hoe, Geneva): Blind. Red berry fruit, bramble, red plum and clay notes. Red fruit and spice on the palate. Drinking at peak.

May 20, 2017 - 39th Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2012s (R&D's): Shows a bit of bricking. At first this is a bit stewy/tomatoey, with red fruit underneath. Flavors of red fruit, raisin, peppery spices and meaty/pepperoni-like qualities. Kind of odd, a bit stewy. Not something I need more than a small taste of. Well past peak at this point, assuming this is a representative bottle.

December 29, 2014 - Solid as always. Lots of life left in this great Zin. Probably one of the best Zinfandels from the Pacific Northwest year in and year out!

May 27, 2013 - A bunch of Sineann: This is ageing very slowly albeit steadily. The nose is big with bramble, raspberries, and cherry liqueur. On the palate, this has some complexity, but very much in the Zin camp (as opposed to some older Zins that turn Bdx like). Great mouth feel. Delicious wine, great with home grilled pizza.

May 27, 2012 - 34th Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2007s (Rich & Dana's): Crimson color. Not very Zin-like; aromas of earth, herbs and green, vegetal qualities (in a good way), with meaty undertones. Nice fruit on the palate, also has herb and white pepper qualities. Medium finish with nice acidity.
