  December 12, 2022 - Garnet colour. Very pronounced nose almost bordeaux alike. Elegant floral and sweet palate. Delicious.

  September 23, 2019 - Side by side with the regular 1988 Soldera. This was drinking beautifully right from the start. Leather, lots of (tart) red fruit, underwood, and a hint of plums on the nose. Good acidity and well integrated tannins with lots more red fruit and underwood notes on the palate. Long finish.

  November 7, 2015 - 2015 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2015-11/9/2015 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Incredibly youthful nose, dry black cherry, strong note of tobacco, leather and tar. Excellent concentration and precision, still noticeable dry tannins. An impressive big scale wine.

  March 12, 2010 - I had high expectations for this Soldera, but the wine didn't really deliver. Cloudy, light ruby color. The wine may have been slightly oxidized as it had a faint rusted flavor. Sour cherry flavor with not an exceptionally long finish. I had a '97 Case Basse that also failed to wow me. Not sure what the big deal is with these wines. Certainly not worth the high prices that they fetch.
