August 31, 2023 - Among a bunch of german rieslings paired w Chinese food, this showed really well - great balance, nice depth, love the Z-H style.

December 10, 2022 - Golden brown, perfect with the foie gras, sweet, rich, balanced, delicious!

September 5, 2020 - Perhaps slightly better than before, it’s still too sweet for food or as an aperitif but not sweet enough for dessert. I think a fiery Thai or East Indian curry could probably stand up to it but otherwise a real stinker from a producer who should do better. Brown-orange, almost the color of mid-age Armagnac with a couple of drops pof TBA Riesling added, there is a honeyed, orange marmalade nose that carries onto the palate along with a slight medicinal back of the mouth and finish. Dries up pretty quickly, leaving behind chewed orange pith. As good as it’s been, drink with something spicy. Glad I’m done with it.

September 24, 2019 - I thought this was meh, too sweet for food but not sweet enough for an after dinner drink. VT I assume is similar to Auslese or * in Germany. This showed plenty of dark caramel or orange in the color but that was not obvious in taste where kind of bland, sweetish, orange marmalade notes took the day. I’d drink any leftovers, this doesn’t have nearly enough acid to hold out much longer. Nary a petrol note either which is a hallmark of the grape. A kind of weird and disappointing experience.
