August 21, 2023 - I liked this wine quite a bit just after release, and continue to enjoy it in mid-age. Mature plus fresh red berry and cherry with very good concentration and substance. Seamless and elegant. So easy to enjoy now through another decade. Still wonderfully bright and lively. Just as good on Day Two.

December 1, 2020 - At 14 years young this wine had a huge bouquet, silky presence across the palate, spice, and an earthy/dark fruit finish. Very nice. Indeed. It only lacked greater depth to make the scoring higher, but I'm NOT complaining - it was really really nice.

HOWEVER, unless you think that additional age is going to add more depth, I can see no reason to cellar it longer.

September 28, 2019 - Still drinking great. Silky smooth and seamless with great balance and a lean mouthfeel. Combination of red and dark fruits with spice and earth. Showing some age in the color and sllghtly muted flavors.

February 2, 2019 - Our last bottle - still drinking well. Dark red fruits. Decent acid.

October 10, 2018 - Drinking wonderfully right now, this dark, medium bodied classic is balanced while still coming down firmly on the ripe cherry, red apple and spice side of things with lively acids and smoke playing off against each other.

Putting the salmon on to grill in a few minutes!

(St. Innocent Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard) Medium cherry red color, slightly cloudy, with pale meniscus; nice roses, tart red fruit, cherry, brett nose; lovely, ripe cherry, tart cherry, cinnamon and mineral palate; medium-plus finish

(St. Innocent Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard, Willamette Valley) With the description “Old World style” increasingly valued in wines from the New World, this wine offers immense appeal for today’s diner. It’s a veritable ode to Burgundy, complete with hints of stems and dried porcinis, but with an obvious ripeness of cherry and raspberry fruit, moderate toasty oak, and a weight indicative of a warmer vintage in Oregon. An upfront, more “obvious” style of delicious Pinot. Hot Picks
