Community Tasting Notes 4

September 3, 2013 - Very rich, heavy pinot. But good!

September 20, 2010 - Consistent notes except to say the oak is now undetectable and the midpalate is layered further with fruit. The balance of earth, fruit and spice on this wine is just perfect and all framed by sweet velvety tannins. This is going to keep getting better. Delicious. 93-94+.

November 18, 2009 - Red but more black cherry on the nose with cedar, moist earth, tobacco leaf, and eastern spice. Very elegant on the palate, velvety tannins. Medium bodied. Strong cherry and fruit attack on the front, a fairly layered mid palate that becomes much more earthy with wood and spice. Good grip and persistence after just a few sips, 30 second finish. Seamless, and still very fresh. Echoes of smoke and earth long after the finish. This is an outstanding pinot noir for a burgundian derivative. Well structured, med tannin, med acidity. 14.0% ABV.

--- this is a fantastic food wine if you've any culinary instinct.

March 30, 2009 - This was a great Pinot. Color was a light red and not inspiring, but bright and clear. The nose had a nice floral scent with a bit of spice to back it up. The fruit exploded with berries leading the way. The finish, while not long, was satisfying. Drink now.
