Community Tasting Notes 22

April 24, 2022 - Mucha fruta negra en nariz, concentrando y muy alchólico. Aromas a hierbas de campo, mentolado a saco. A pesar de ser un vino concentrado y apretado me ha gustado bastante más que el Termanthia 2004.

April 19, 2021 - Last time I had this wine a few years ago it really wowed me, today it was quite nice, but came across a bit faded and a touch too ripe perhaps. Sweet red fruits reminiscent of stewed rhubarb and strawberry pie. Nice texture and balance. Feel this will hold, yet not going to improve.

June 8, 2020 - Some Priorat Giants, Plus a Bonus Wine to Boot (A Pristine Outdoor Setting Somewhere in Los Olivos): Certainly a different animal than the other four vintages served, but with enough aeration a really compelling wine. For the first two hours or so, the nose was somewhat off-putting, very high toned and showing what many called VA (I though acetate). Whatever it was eventually blew off, making this wine extremely enjoyable. Some evident heat from the vintage, and the wine stained the sides of the glass with nearly permanent droplets that clung to the side, consistent with the high alcohol levels. Notes of plum and dark berries, mocha, truffles, baking spice and pepper. I loved the complexity and density here.

July 4, 2019 - This is massive. Probably the biggest wine I've ever had. Needs several hours to be approachable, if you pop and pour it will taste like Port.
