July 26, 2022 - Heavy leather, black fruits, and other tertiary aromas. Tannins had finally softened, and acidity is still good. There was some residual sugar on the palate.

August 28, 2020 - Very mice and savory. Not as memorable as my last bottle. This is written a few days later. But this has nice integrated flavors Almost seamless. Some light pepper notes with dark fruits and slight meaty notes. Very pleasant to drink. This is my last bottle. Not sure I would hold them longer if I had them.

    August 23, 2020 - Corked.

May 30, 2020 - During a Zoom Blind tasting. Dark cloudy color. Lots of tertiary notes here, some sour cherry and oxidative notes as well. Good complexity but a touch dry on the finish.

December 29, 2017 - Decanted about three hours in advance on the strength of the previous CT note; as it happens, spot on. Deep, full ruby. Meaty nose, dark fruited, a touch or iron and whilst quite well mannered, there is a touch of vrai Cornas here. Very smooth, classic northern Rhone syrah, lovely fruit and showing some development. None of the oak, tannin or acidity that previous CT notes have suggested were the case five to ten years ago, and certainly not thin and past it. Quite padded on the mid-palate, but finishes with energy and decent length. Blackberry and grilled meat in a finely velvety package. No experience of JL Colombo — always had the impression the wines were quite modern, but if that was the case here, the terroir won out in the end. ****
