March 11, 2017 - Similar to my last note but this one came together better....let sit 30 mins in the decanter and the air helped it integrate better.

December 3, 2016 - wow...still dark in color...a bit of funk that subsides with air. reminds me of mid priced Malbec blends made during this era...currants, cherries, off putting sour edges, a little mold, bleach...currant and cherry fruit is the primary flavor still for this 19 year old wine!

December 4, 2006 - Fun to drink wine, nice mellow tannins.

September 24, 2006 - Some pretty signifigant funk on the nose at first. But it burned off the nose, and only added another dimension to the palatte. Which was pretty harmonious for a 1997 from Chile. The color was Brick red/brown, with an almost orange rim. It looked old. But the palatte, while possibly on its downside, was still going strong. Still some decent fruit, of plum, and darker types. The mouthfeel is surprisingly deep for the age, and the wine is still medium bodied, with some grip to the tannins, but not overpowering. The acidity was still nice as well. The nice earth characteristics stayed throughout the night, but were complemetary, and not dominent. All in all, a very nice mature Cab, best to be enjoyed within the next year.
