August 26, 2017 - Decanted approx 90 min before blind tasting event & rebottled beforehand. Really nice nose of barnyard, forest floor, fruit, spices. Delicate on the palate. Gassed with Argon and reopened on day 3, and it was even better! A solid 91 after 2 days under gas.

November 5, 2014 - Somewhat to my surprise, this wine keeps getting better. Nicely balanced, smoky dark fruit coupled with lift and acidity. Threw off a fairly heavy load of sediment in the bottle, but the wine itself is still medium garnet, with a pleasantly funky nose of barnyard, stewed fruits, and earth. Even better on Day 2.

September 28, 2012 - This wine needed about 45 minutes to get going... but then wow! Dark, classic northern Rhone profile. Olive, smoke, bacon and brambles. Medium weight, great with food and character out the wazoo. Great QPR and drinking great now.

May 5, 2012 - Oh my, wish I'd bought more of this. Funky dirty nose right out of the woods, with leather and some red fuit. A nice dark ruby with no sign of bricking. Decent legs. On the palate, pepper, ripe pie cherry with a lot of focus. Long finish, much more than I would have expected. If you have more, have no fear of letting it sit longer, while this is drinking well now, I see a few years ahead of it yet.

March 10, 2012 - Outstanding bottle. The nose is all about rock and pepper, but there's an undercurrent of blackberry that just barely registers as fruity--hard to describe. The palate is medium light, and everything's is working together perfectly. Silky fruit texture belies a lively acidity, a very savory flavor profile, and a slight bit of grain in the tannin is the only thing that reminds me that this isn't the height of elegance. Fantastic wine, drinking great, but sure to have loads of life left.
