October 2, 2022 - Shy at first, opened up after two hours to reveal damp earth, plums, and sour cherry

March 17, 2018 - Based on the last note or two, I was afraid I would find this too modern, ripe and oaky, but that wasn't the case. The nose has a funky, earthy component that blows off with time. Darker toned fruits and spice. There is what I think is a little oak influence that shows as maybe coffee or dark chocolate, but I don't find it overpowering. The tannin is light and soft, and there is plenty of acidity. I enjoyed this wine and continue to find that the 05 vintage was pretty good and maybe under rated. I see no reason that this wine won't drink well for another 5, maybe 10 years.

October 25, 2016 - During a matter of taste event, Brunello Masterclass. Medium garnet. Nose of dark and red fruit, forest floor, spices, oak. Better freshness than the flabby 2006 but the tannins lead to a drying finish. Quality of tannins questionable. Also this, not really convincing, not surprising if you try to handle a Sangiovese like a Bordeaux Merlot in the cellar...
