February 4, 2023 - Tannini ancora ben presenti. Da aspettare qualche anno

May 9, 2021 - Amazing wine. Perfectly fresh and refined, yet with dark fruits. No sign of aging. Complex, deep, interesting.

November 20, 2019 - needed several hours of decant and then only began it's journey into greatness, becoming rich and more intense red fruited, great complexity and tannin for power. If only all bottles were this way.

September 5, 2019 - This is a stunner. This last bottle of my half case makes me wish I had more. The color is still young and bright and dark for being 20 years old -- no bricking at the edges. The nose is huge and beautiful classic barolo -- tar, dark cherries, with some floral background. The palate is intense and bright and full of dark fruit with leather, significant acidity and ending with a firm hit of serious tannins. This thing is big.

June 22, 2019 - Popped and poured, then followed for three hours. Translucent pale garnet. Nose of damp cellar, tar, violets, a bit of camphor. Asphalt and leathery tobacco joining a core of delicate but steely red cherry and strawberry fruit persisting on the palate. Still significant tannin and moderate acidity leading to a long finish of tar and sweet dried red fruit. Classic Barolo solidly into its drinking window, but could evolve for years. Fair amount of sediment.

Rockss and Fruit

(Marcarini Barolo Brunate) This wine was showing evidence of extreme youth but was ripe enough so as to be enjoyable. Classic nose of tar, black cherries, mineral, earth and even hints of truffle. The palate was big, ripe with wonderful pure tannin and explosive fruit. Tannins cut a swath on the palate but are cut nicely with ripe fruit. Juicy, dark and refined. Twenty year too young.
