April 25, 2023 - En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Four (Bordeaux): From Magnum. Initially fresh but with a slight green underpin and little else. On the palate it has a touch of sourness, textured burr on the mid palate but this feels a bit too tired and flat. Not a good example.

June 25, 2022 - lanolin, mineral, white flowers on the nose and palate. Wet stone and hay. Balanced with nice acidity. Evolved with air. Nice wine.

April 2, 2022 - Wet stone, hay, hints of green apple. Nice acidity

August 30, 2020 - fill was high shoulder and the cork was black and fungated on top and removed easily intact. The wine was still a relatively light gold, lovely and understated. Old white bordeaux is such a treat.

March 12, 2020 - Ian’s unfashionable 80’s Bordeaux (Piccolino, Liverpool Street Stn, London): Similar very pale straw as the 86 Carb. A touch more weight here, texturally too, more lanolin alongside the wax. After a couple of hours lots of vanilla and custard apple. Overall, ****
