February 27, 2023 - Light seepage. Ullage in the neck. Smelled okau and decided to decant, which was the right choice. Light-moderate aromas of spiced black cherry, hint of reduction — classic Clos Electrique. Fresh tingly acid, with moderate+ flavors of red/dark fruits, forest floor, light tannins, with plenty of underlying structure. Medium body. Drink or hold for a decade plus.

December 8, 2019 - PnP, passive cellar for past 5 years.

Really singing. Delicious medium-light weight wine. Great secondary flavors of earthy forest floor but still a bit of elegant fruit. Nicely balanced wine.

November 17, 2014 - Decanted two bottles successively. Identical profiles. Terrific earth and fruit on the nose - secondaries of spice and mincemeat. Great bright acidity in balance with rich dark red fruit and a lingering savoury finish. More like a Barbaresco than a Pinot. Well received by all present. Served with Veal stuffed with duck confit and a port reduction. Sadly our last two bottles.

August 23, 2014 - Opened by Seaquam at Pasti's with Steve8. Dirty red fruit with some earthy funk. Still a pip in need of time, but nice.

  • Traxx Does not like this wine:

April 1, 2013 - One of the first "good" bottles of pinot I ever bought. The first bottle opened, basically at release, was nearly ruined by reduction. This bottle, while clear of reduction, was worse. Hot on the nose, almost kirsch, incredibly dark color. I never would have thought this pinot if given it blind.

I don't know if there's any chance this will turn into something worth drinking, based on this showing one of the absolute worst bottles of wine I've had in a year or more. Paying around $50 for this makes me sad, should have bought something else...
