May 20, 2013 - It tastes like grape soda spiked with grain alcohol. Another one of those bottles I would have loved if I was fourteen and raiding my granny's liquor cabinet....

January 9, 2011 - Made of 70% Shiraz, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc. This dark inky red sparkler has aromas of dark ripe fruits, vanilla cream and hints of chocolate. Loads of ripe fruits flavours on palate, with blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry, some vanilla and mocha. Soft tannins and rather short finish. This is a fruity sparkling Shiraz but the mid-palate and finishing are rather disappointing.

October 18, 2010 - "2011" Sydney International Wine Show - stewarding notes; 10/17/2010-10/22/2010 (Blue Mountains, NSW): {cork, 14%} A mix of shiraz and the two cabernet grapes. Big rich sweet strawberry nose. You’d call this off-dry I reckon, especially after a few mouthfuls. Sweet vanilla and raspberry are carried along by quite fine bubbles, but it still finishes rather sweet and short.

July 5, 2010 - NobleRottersSydney - Penfolds & Henschke - Top Shelf Shiraz (Alio's, Surry Hills): [14%, cork] {Glenn} Surprisingly subtle nose of liquorice and raspberries. A medium-bodied wine follows, only mildly fruity on the palate; surprisingly tannic and also very dry. There are dusty berry fruits but fruit isn’t what this is about – and somehow the medium-sized, quite creamy bubbles sit oddly with the rather chalky tannins that continue to build. Very much a food style of sparkling shiraz, as opposed to the slightly sweet, party-cocktail style that is more widely expected of this configuration. Perhaps this one has already been in bottle for some time?

November 1, 2009 - Interesting bubbly wine. Plum and prune on nose and palate, finished a little bitter. Something fun and different to try with friends maybe. Do not pay more than $15. I may have had it late, as it sat in cellar for several years.
