Community Tasting Notes 4

December 11, 2022 - Ripe, earthy, red fruit, forest floor, with bottle age complexity and an underlying smokiness to mature, red fruit flavors. Definitely attractive, but this seemed to be on the precipice of being madeirized while simultaneously never crossing that line. It was tasty enough to drink the whole bottle, but it left me wondering. I have one more bottle so hopefully that'll show a little better.

May 24, 2020 - Had low expectations, not certain provenance, kept well for the last 3 years and this pinot is light, great acidity, nice fruit, strawberries and raspberries, just really nice. Taking my time, this will continue to open nicely.

February 18, 2020 - 'No Masks' Hong Kong Dinner (Table, 8th Floor, The Pemberton, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong): Dark opaque ruby colour. Nose is nicely lifted more black fruit than you’d normally expect in a Cali Pinot. Palate is deep, rich and unctuous. Very rich. Still very fresh and alive but with some great secondary and near-tertiary elements. Great length and a deeply resonant reverberance. One of the most impressive Cali Pinots I have drank.

August 19, 2012 - Significant color change at the edge. The nose is forest floor, soy and some nice red fruit. Nice meaty character on the palate with nice acid and rich body still. Acid is still good. Don't see this improving much and is a nice drop.
