February 6, 2017 - Opened in 2017, 2 years after bottling, it was a very nice intro to a good evening of pinots.

December 31, 2016 - Fascinating sparkler from Navarro leads with apricot and just enough bready-yeast character.

December 26, 2015 - Yet another quality wine from Navarro. Good QPR. Has tropical fruit with crisp cleansing finish. Gewurtztraminer makes this a unique sparkling wine as it gives it a bit more fruit without being flabby.

January 1, 2009 - Unfortunately there's none of this left for sale from the vineyard. This was the best of 5 champagnes tasted last night -- exceeding the Pierre Peters Grand Cru in fruit, length of finish and total enjoyment. This is truly fabulous American Sparkler. Apparently they only make this when they have concerns about the Gewurtztraminer grapes and their normal production -- this is a "fall back" for Navarro. What a fall back -- right into heaven.

December 25, 2008 - Food pairing: chicken curry yakisoba and softshell crab roll. Look: light straw in color, lots of bubbles on the pour and as it rested in the glass. Scent: apricot, peach, sour apple, light yeastiness, hint of gewurtz spiciness. Taste: Very full bodied sparkling, keeping up well with flavorful noodle dish. Some creaminess, solid acidity, apricot, peach, and apple of the nose fitting right in on the palate. Four phase finish that is very long lasting, starting with the fruit, then a bread/wheat note, moving to the well-balanced acidity, and finishing with whisper of geuwrtz spice that I detected in the nose. Why won't they make this every year (last brut was in '00)? Amazing value, and I hope there are even some left to buy.
