November 3, 2022 - still plenty of life in this wine. Has plenty of dark fruits on it

July 3, 2021 - Layer after layer of chocolate goes on for miles. Coats the whole palate and purple plum fruit subtlety melds in. Really a gem.

June 30, 2019 - Shared this btl with rocknroller back on the 19th. Wish I could detect all the complex notes he did ( but I've got 25 or more years on him). This is a big "juicy" wine with lots of dark fruit ; yet not a fruit bomb, nor does the 14.5% OH seem noticeable. Lovely, well integrated tannins. I got white pepper on the finish. Luschous drinking wine. Interestingly I preferred the slightly lower scoring "leaner" 09 Hendry cabernet with my steak. But stand alone, I preferr the Martini. Size may not matter, but pairings do.

June 19, 2019 - Very dark red/purple color, 7mm tranisitional margin. Decanted for 30 minutes. Drank 2 glasses over 2 hours. Brought this to the lake. Got this from WTSO back in early 2011. Don't know where those deals have all gone, but they are way more than few and far between these days. I really wish I'd picked up more bottles back then. This has wonderful aromatics, hay, earth, aromatic herbs, a little eucalyptus, cassis and dark cherry with some dark chocolate. The palate is outstanding too, brambly dark berries, spice, dark cocoa beans, power though featherwight, complex layers, a streak of pure cassis, good acidity, white pepper, plush supple tannins, tart bing cherry. Wow, just in a great spot. 93+ to 94pts.
