April 12, 2024 - Gorgeous dark fruit, black currant, cigar box, earthiness. Beautiful tannin structure, perfect acidity, long finish. Incredible wine.

April 6, 2024 - Slow Ox for 6 hours. Fruit was explosive when first opened, then several hours later it was far more reserved with tobacco and minerals being more prominant. By dinner time, the balance of ripe fruits, tobacco, minerals and graphite on the nose was achieved. On the palate the fruits are layered black, blue and red fruits with a very nice component of tobacco, graphite, and sweet Oak. The finish was about 20 seconds. The wine was smooth but the tannins still had some thickness and backbone, which finally became completely pliable at the end of dinner. I suspect this wine will drink in top form until the end of this decade.

January 5, 2024 - 4+ hours of air. Smoky cherry and cedar on the nose. The palate shows nice fruit and good graphite notes. A nice wine from a lesser vintage. I’m not sure this will improve much, but its reticence upon opening tells me it still has decades ahead of it.
