May 16, 2019 - (Bellota SF) waxy, almost Chenin-like nose. Slight hint of oxidation is pleasant rather than a flaw. Secondary aromas.

  • Harley1199 Likes this wine:

May 11, 2015 - Little warm Ribeiro, a bit over the hill, less pungent as usual, sweetie even, watery texture, Xarel.lo-like, definitively Mediterranean rather than Atlantic.
    A curiosity to be discovered.

Un ribeiro un poco cálido, pasadita, madura, menos pungente que lo que suele ser, incluso dulcecita, como una Xarel.lo, claramente mediterránea en lugar de atlántica.
Una curiosidad que merece ser descubierta.

December 28, 2012 - Modest wine past its prime.

November 28, 2010 - Shows citrus notes with a nicemineral undertone. Nicely balanced with a bracing acid lift on the long finish. Great with sea food.

(Emilio Rojo Ribeiro, Galicia) Emilio Rojo is an eccentric former engineer who established his estate in 1987, moving back to his native Galicia to rehabilitate ancient vineyard sites and traditions. He purchased 5 acres of terraced hillside vineyards in Ribeiro, where he planted typical varietals such as Treixadura, Albariño, Loureiro, Torrontés, and Lado, and where he farms organically. The resulting wine offers tons of orchard fruit, honeysuckle, and minerality on the nose. The palate is round, with a great focus that finishes with persistent, exotic, floral and herbal notes. This is one of the unique white wines of Spain, with only 50 cases imported into the United States. Hot Picks
