August 5, 2009 - 2005 is supposed to be a great year for Riesling, so I broke out this bottle for my B-day since Riesling is my favorite. Deep, deep golden color like the light you get at an autumn sunset. Beautiful. Rich fuit notes on the nose. The usual apple and pear, and some spice that I can't quite identify on the back-end. Great mouth feel. Slightly slippery and very full on the tongue. Full fruit flavor as expected. The usual apple and pear with some lychee and a bit of apple pie spice on the tail. Very nice acid tingle at the end. Went down very well. I wasn't disappointed.
