August 15, 2010 - Excellent and still very youthful.

May 28, 2010 - This wine is drinking beautifully now. Notes of black cherry, blackberry, smokey meat juice, bramble and pepper. Very well rounded and balanced with long finish.

January 30, 2010 - drank with tooch. pitch colored, can't even see my fingers through it. the nose is exquisite, like a 97-point nose. tons of freshly cooked bacon, cured meat and blackberries. the palate is a little disappointing. there's this tangy, somewhat awkward aspect going on, like the structure is fading. still lots of good, dense black fruit with good black pepper and spice. nice finish. drink now if you've got em.

January 30, 2010 - Pitch black color...shockingly dark for a 2000 Washington blend. Really fantastic nose here. Smoked, cured and cooked meats abound with pepper. I could mistaken this for an aged Cote Rotie or even a 1998 Chateauneuf de Pape's nose. Just a fantastic nose, full of depth and as close to perfection as I've come across. The wine itself has nice complexity, and lost of its awkward acidity after breathing for 30 minutes or so. I'm am again very impressed by the winemaking here. Fantastic wine.

June 24, 2008 - Smokey, meaty nose. The tannins on this wine are still big, but the fruit seems to be fading a bit. Mouthdrying finish. Not sure where its going from here. My least favorite La Cote Rousse.
