September 8, 2018 - Last bottle from a batch purchased at release.
From prior notes: "Dark fruits, mellow tannins, cherry and blackberry. Spice on the finish. Still has great fruit and full bodied..." A big wine, fruit forward. picked up some dark cherry, nutmeg/spice this time. Medium weight and finish..."
With a 16.5% ABV, the concern was the fruit would get overwhelemed as it aged. Surprisingly, I did not notice as much heat on this bottle as prior tastings (from memory). Not bad, was better in its youth. Still nice to drink but likely peaked a couple years ago...drink up -

March 14, 2017 - At home with some of the crew (Cheimi/Tom/Eileen/Lauren) with Valerie's tacos. Needed something with some depth to stand up to the spice...I thought this might be gone by now but still drinking well
Consistent with prior notes..."Dark fruits, mellow tannins, cherry and blackberry. Spice on the finish. Still has great fruit and full bodied..." A big wine, fruit forward. picked up some dark cherry, nutmeg/spice this time. Medium weight and finish. A bit of heat (16% ABV)....will drink last bottle soon... -

March 8, 2014 - At home, casual dinner with Valerie and Eileen, salmon and my Italian potatoes, drank after an 01 Sbragia Howell Mountain.
Consistent with prior notes, still drinking well. This bottle drank better than the last (from memory). Dark fruits, mellow tannins, cherry and blackberry. Spice on the finish. Still has great fruit and full bodied, not built for long term aging, drink over next couple years -
